PCX Expands Manufacturing Operations into North Carolina's Triangle

Raleigh, NC – March 1, 2020 -- PCX has announced the company will be expanding its manufacturing operations to a new site in Knightdale, NC, upon its completion in 2021. This is PCX’s third expansion and will provide the company with additional manufacturing capacity to better serve its rapidly growing client base in the commercial construction, modular data center and industrial-utility markets. The new site ensures PCX’s commitment to further optimizing the modular-industrialized manufacturing process, as the company continues to innovate in the space while reducing project lead times and expediting build schedules.

The new facility is climate controlled and has been designed specifically for electrical assembly, in addition to integrating large electrical skids and modular enclosures for the company’s key mission critical customers. The expansion will also allow the PCX team to work safer, and more efficiently on multiple projects that include integrating modular electrical, mechanical, and IT systems.

The location of the new facility was chosen based on its proximity to optimal transportation routes and its access to a strong skilled labor force near the Triangle area. Routes alongside the new facility include interstate 540, the partially complete interstate 87, and the major Triangle beltline, interstate 440, which all enable faster, more efficient project shipments nationally. In addition, central access to these routes, as well as the facility’s proximity to Durham, Chapel Hill, and Raleigh, will provide the Triangle area with more essential construction and infrastructure-technology job opportunities, as PCX will be looking to fill more than 50 positions to aid the new expansion, alongside their upcoming project lineup.

“North Carolina has always been a leader in modular construction,” said Mark A. Di Lillo, PCX’s President and CEO. “With Raleigh emerging as an electrical technology hub, in addition to NC State University and Wake Technical Community College close by, it was only natural for PCX to expand in the area to support its aggressive growth. It also places PCX in close proximity to a large portion of the country’s current and future population, which will play a critical role in driving our customers’ future growth.”
