PCX to Join Industry Leaders on TIA's Latest Data Center Webinar

PCX announced today the company will have a representative participating in the Telecommunications Industry Association’s (TIA) latest webinar panel, “Data Centers: What is Different At the Edge” on April 13, 2021. The panel will explore the data center industry’s adaptation to address and aid the need for lower latency requirements, as well as the effects imparted on data center design, construction, and performance. PCX will be joining other industry leading companies, including Edge Presence, Compass Datacenters and Vericom Global Solutions to explore, discuss and provide solutions at the edge.

Bret Lehman, Director of Product & Business Development, will be representing PCX on the webinar panel. Lehman is an industry veteran who has spent the past 20 years consulting with, and providing solutions for end users to optimize the data center environments which power their businesses and directly support their mission critical goals. Lehman will look to emphasize the business model at the edge, as he explores turnkey configurations and the ease of data center deployment in the space, in tandem with the need to revamp networking infrastructure to support different levels of latency.

“For me the holy grail around the edge is about the business model,” said Lehman. “What drives any given use case? Is it a public model that is government-funded to benefit the greater good, such as smart cities or public safety initiatives? Or is it a private model, driven by investment and designed for a healthy return? This factor is critical because it will not only determine how we go about deploying data center infrastructure in the space, but how quickly the evolution at the edge will take place.”

Lehman stated he looks forward to collaborating with other industry-recognized individuals on the panel, to discuss and explore solutions that will impact both businesses at the edge and near-edge. “Over the coming years we’ll witness the further impact that technology will have on our everyday lives, now with an emphasis on the edge. While the industry looks to provide solutions for the needs that arise from these technological impacts, these discussions that feature representatives from different areas of expertise can serve as the foundation for setting a course.”
