Clayton, NC, February 14, 2017 -- PCX Corporation shipped a Prefabricated Electrical Power Distribution System to a leading Northeast supermarket retailer. The FLX-EDC Electrical Distribution Center was installed as a penthouse on the facility rooftop to meet current requirements for improved human safety, system storm hardening, and resiliency.
The PCX FLX-EDC Center will be employed in a new store under construction in the New York Area. The project has an aggressive seasonal delivery schedule and is scheduled to open in 2017.
Architecture and resource management were major considerations as well as integration of code requirements and power from an alternative energy supply. Installation includes an automatic transfer switch coupling an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to couple to an 80 kW Natural Gas generator providing emergency electrical backup for longer periods. Customary ground fault testing and an arc flash study will be performed on site by the PCX team.
